The actor is this episode Eddie Alpert later does green acres. But I saw him on a johnny carson show talk about landing on Normandy Beach during WW2. His buddy from boot camp. When they landed on the beach, his buddy's head was blown off by a machine gun bunker. He stayed quiet for a couple seconds. So did the audience.
