🎾 What is Tennis Elbow?

Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is a painful condition caused by overuse of the forearm muscles, leading to inflammation of the tendons attached to the lateral epicondyle — the bony bump on the outside of your elbow.

💥 Key Features:

  • Location: Outer part of the elbow

  • Cause: Repetitive strain (not just from tennis!) — common in plumbers, carpenters, computer users

  • Symptoms:

    • Pain or burning on the outside of the elbow

    • Weak grip strength

    • Worsens with lifting, gripping, or twisting motions

  • Diagnosis: Based on physical exam; imaging (MRI/ultrasound) rarely needed

  • Treatment:

    • Rest, ice, NSAIDs

    • Physical therapy

    • Bracing

    • PRP injections or corticosteroids

    • Surgery (in rare, chronic cases)
