DORIS DAY - Pillow Talk (Open)
1959 - DORIS DAY - Pillow Talk (Open)
Background: Rock Hudson was openly gay during the time he filmed this movie. Years later, I watched Doris Day discussing it on a talk show. Rock would arrive on set with his partner, and they even had their own trailer.
What's particularly interesting about the film is the scene where Doris Day goes to have a meal. Instead of a traditional restaurant, all the food is stored behind a window that resembles a wall turned into a giant vending machine. To enjoy a meal, you insert coins, open a small door with a window, and retrieve your chosen item, like a slice of pie.
Today, while shopping at Target, I noticed many products locked behind displays. To access them, you need to ring a bell and wait for a Target employee to come and unlock the door for you to retrieve your items. It made me wonder why stores don't implement a system similar to the one in the movie. You could pay for your item, and it would either be dispensed immediately or sent to the front cashier for pickup on your way out. This could potentially save time and reduce the need for additional staff, thus benefiting the store's bottom line.
